Lee McDole

I have twenty years of experience across product studios, food tech, fintech, and video games. I've built ground-up systems on tight timelines, run nearshore QA teams, deployed software onto custom installations domestically and abroad, and stood up the technology side of an early-stage company as a fractional CTO.

My strengths include translating between business goals and engineering reality, making the right call about whether to build or buy, and making sure technology serves your team and your customers. I lean toward simple solutions that ship over elegant ones that don't, and I'll be honest when off-the-shelf software is the better answer than anything I could build.

I work best with owners who want a senior technologist to make the calls and own the outcome — not a body shop they have to micromanage. If you need someone to figure out what should be built — and then build it — that's the work I do.

I also design and ship my own products, including a pair of iOS and Android apps made with homebrewing author Jamil Zainasheff, as well as FinBrief, an AI tool that turns SEC filings into plain-English briefs.
