Privacy Policy
Effective June 24, 2026 · Mr. Malty's Pitch Rate Calculator
McDole Group, LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates Mr. Malty's Pitch Rate Calculator (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.
Information We Collect
Brewing Calculations
When you use the calculator, the App sends your brewing parameters (wort volume, original gravity, yeast type, manufacture date) to our server to perform the calculation. These parameters are processed in real time and are not stored. Our API is stateless — no calculation data is retained after the response is returned.
Temporary Identifiers
Each app session generates a random session identifier used solely for request routing. This identifier is not linked to you or your device and is discarded when the session ends.
Compatibility Logging
Each API request includes the App's version number, build number, and platform (iOS, Android, or web). We log these values — together with a request timestamp — solely to determine which client versions are still in active use, so that we know when it is safe to retire backwards-compatibility code paths and when we need to prompt users to update. This information is not linked to users, devices, session identifiers, or brewing inputs. These logs are retained for no longer than 30 days.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Names, email addresses, or contact information
- User accounts or login credentials
- Location data
- Photos, contacts, or other device data
- User-level analytics, behavioral tracking, or profiling
The App does not require any device permissions (camera, location, microphone, etc.).
Third-Party Services
Crash Reporting (Sentry)
The App uses Sentry to collect crash and error reports in production builds only. When the App encounters an error, Sentry may collect:
- Stack traces and error messages
- Device information (model, operating system version)
- App version and build number
Crash reports do not include personally identifiable information. No user actions, inputs, or calculation data are included. This data is used solely to diagnose and fix bugs. Sentry's privacy policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain information automatically, including:
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
- Device information (model, operating system version)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
- IP address (for general location-based ad targeting)
This data is collected and processed by Google according to their privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google's advertising data practices are described here: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
Data Storage and Retention
- Server-side: No user data or calculation history is stored. All API requests are stateless.
- On-device: The App uses in-memory caching only, which is cleared when the App is closed. No data is written to persistent storage on your device.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices
Personalized Advertising
You can limit ad personalization through your device settings:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking — disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads — enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
Ad-Free Option
You can remove all advertising permanently with a one-time in-app purchase ($1.99). Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) through RevenueCat, which manages purchase verification. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and transaction data — no personal information is shared. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)
Purchase processing is handled by RevenueCat, which receives:
- Anonymous app user ID (not linked to your identity)
- Transaction receipts from Apple or Google
- Purchase status (for entitlement verification)
No personal or financial information (credit card numbers, billing address) is collected by or accessible to us. All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
